Free billing software

Restaurant billing software that can cost you nothing.

Venditas is free for the first 30 days. After that it is ₹3 per paid order, and you can switch on a small platform fee so your guests pay that ₹3 instead of you. Every feature is included either way.

  • No card needed
  • No hardware to buy
  • Every feature, from day one
Short answer

Venditas is free for the first 30 days with every feature. After that it costs ₹3 per paid order, or nothing for the restaurant if you switch on the platform fee, which adds ₹3 plus GST to each guest’s bill. There is no card, no contract and no hardware to buy.

Three ways it stays free for you.

None of these need a card, and you can change your mind any month.

1. The first 30 days

  • Every feature, from billing to stock
  • As many staff, tables and devices as you need
  • A reminder in the POS three days before it ends

2. Guests pay the ₹3

  • Switch it on in Setup → Plan
  • A “Platform fee ₹3” line on each bill, with GST
  • The restaurant pays Venditas nothing

3. Set it up yourself

  • Start with our sample menu, or paste your own list
  • Import your menu from a CSV file
  • Pair phones and tablets with a code

What it costs after 30 days

You only pay for bills that are paid. Cancelled orders and ₹0 bills are free. Here is a month at different sizes, open 30 days:

Paid orders a dayRestaurant paysIf guests pay the ₹3
10₹900₹0
25₹2,250₹0
50₹4,500₹0
100₹9,000₹0

Prices are plus applicable taxes. Try your own numbers on the pricing calculator.

What the guest’s bill looks like

With the platform fee on, a ₹500 order with 5% GST looks like this:

Items₹500.00
Platform fee₹3.00
CGST 2.5% + SGST 2.5%₹25.16
Round off−₹0.16
Total₹528

Without it, the same bill is ₹525. Tell guests about the fee, for example on the menu, so nobody is surprised. Read our guide on service charge rules in India for how charges on bills should be shown.

What to check in any “free” billing app

Many free billing apps are built for shops: you add items, print a bill and that is it. A restaurant needs more than a bill. Before you settle on any free app, check whether it does these:

  • KOTs to the kitchen. Orders should reach the kitchen as a printed KOT or on a kitchen screen, not as a shout across the room.
  • Ordering at the table. Captains should be able to take orders on their own phone, and guests should be able to order by QR code if you want that.
  • Stock from recipes. When a dish is billed, its ingredients should come out of stock by themselves. See inventory and food cost.
  • Staff controls. Each person should log in with their own PIN, and every cancellation and discount should show who did it. See how Venditas stops billing leaks.
  • Proper GST bills. GSTIN, FSSAI number, CGST and SGST by rate, and a GST report for your accountant. See GST billing.
  • A person to call. When something breaks at 9 pm on a Saturday, you need an answer, not a ticket number.

Venditas includes all of these in the same ₹3. There are no paid plans or modules to unlock later. Our guide on how to choose restaurant billing software has the full checklist.

Who this suits

  • New restaurants and cafes that do not want a yearly bill before they know their numbers.
  • Small places with fewer orders, where ₹3 an order adds up to a few hundred rupees a month.
  • Owners who want to try first. Run it for 30 days on real service before deciding.
  • Restaurants comfortable with a platform fee, so the system costs them nothing at all.

If you run a very busy restaurant and do not want to pass the fee to guests, a fixed yearly plan elsewhere may cost less. We would rather say that now. Our comparison page shows where that line falls.

What is not included yet

Venditas needs internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to save orders, as there is no offline mode yet. It does not yet connect to Swiggy and Zomato, Tally or online payment gateways. Everything else on this page works today.

Questions

Quick answers

Is there free billing software for restaurants?

Venditas is free for the first 30 days with every feature. After that it costs ₹3 per paid order, or nothing for the restaurant if you switch on the platform fee, which adds ₹3 plus GST to each guest’s bill.

Is Venditas free forever?

Not on its own. The first 30 days are free. After that each paid order costs ₹3. If you pass that ₹3 to guests as a “Platform fee” line, the restaurant itself pays nothing.

Do I need to enter a card to start?

No. You sign up with your email, and there is no card on file at any point. After the free period we send the month’s count on WhatsApp and you pay by UPI.

What does the guest see if they pay the ₹3?

A separate “Platform fee ₹3” line on the bill, with GST like your other charges. On a ₹500 bill with 5% GST, the guest pays ₹528 instead of ₹525. Let guests know, for example on the menu.

Is the free period limited in features?

No. Billing, KOTs, the kitchen screen, captain ordering, QR table ordering, stock, tips and reports all work from day one.

Do I have to pay for setup?

No, if you set it up yourself with the sample menu or your own menu file. If you would like us to do it, the setup service is ₹2,999 one-time.

Can I use it on my phone?
