Short answer

Venditas KOT software sends each order to the kitchen the moment a captain taps Send KOT. KOTs print by station (kitchen, bar, tandoor) and appear on a kitchen display with a timer. Cooks tap dishes as ready and the captain is told. It is included in the ₹3 per order price.

How KOTs work in Venditas

  1. The captain adds dishes on their phone, with portions, add-ons and notes like “less spicy”.
  2. They tap Send KOT. Each station gets its own ticket with the table name, KOT number, captain’s name and time.
  3. The KOT prints on the station’s printer and shows on the kitchen screen at the same moment.
  4. The cook taps Start, then marks single dishes or the whole ticket Ready.
  5. The captain gets “T4: KOT 12 is ready” on their phone and picks it up.

What the kitchen display shows

  • Timers on every ticket. A ticket turns amber after 10 minutes and red after 20, and the header counts how many are late.
  • Station filter. The tandoor screen shows only tandoor items. The bar sees only drinks.
  • Notes in bold. Dish notes and order notes sit right under the item.
  • Cancelled items crossed out, so nobody cooks something the guest no longer wants.
  • Recall. Tickets served in the last 30 minutes can be brought back if one was closed by mistake.
  • Dark mode and full screen for a wall-mounted tablet.

Printed KOTs, if you prefer paper

Connect a 58 mm or 80 mm receipt printer to the device at each station. Venditas can print every new KOT automatically on that device, and it reprints anything from the last 15 minutes that it missed while the device was reloading. Cancel slips print the same way.

On Android, Bluetooth receipt printers work through the RawBT app.

Why it cuts kitchen mistakes

Handwritten KOTs get lost, misread and duplicated. With Venditas every KOT is typed by the captain, numbered, timed and linked to the bill. Nothing reaches the bill that did not go to the kitchen, and the watch list shows every item cancelled after the KOT, with the name of the person who did it.

What is KOT software?

KOT software sends each order from the captain or counter to the kitchen as a Kitchen Order Ticket, printed or on a screen. In Venditas it also tracks when each KOT is started and ready. Read more on what a KOT is.

Do I need a kitchen screen, or can I just print KOTs?

Either works. You can print KOTs on a receipt printer, show them on a kitchen screen, or both. The kitchen screen can be any tablet, phone or computer with a browser.

Can the bar and kitchen get separate KOTs?

Yes. Set a station for each dish, like kitchen, bar or tandoor. Each station gets its own KOT and its own filter on the kitchen screen.

What happens when a captain cancels an item after the KOT?

The item shows as cancelled on the kitchen screen and a cancel slip can print at the KOT printer. The cancellation is recorded in the watch list with the staff member’s name.

How does the kitchen show an order is ready?

The cook taps each dish or the whole ticket as ready. The captain who sent the order gets a “KOT is ready” alert on their phone.

Is the KOT feature extra?

No. KOTs and the kitchen screen are included in the ₹3 per order price, with every other feature. The first 30 days are free.
