Restaurant inventory software that counts as you bill.
Tell Venditas what goes into each dish once. From then on, every paid bill takes those ingredients out of stock, so you can see what you should have, what you actually have, and what each plate costs you.
- Stock by recipe
- Purchases and suppliers
- Included in ₹3 per order
Venditas inventory management works through recipes. You list the ingredients in each dish, and every paid bill takes them out of stock. Record purchases to add stock, log wastage, and count stock to find what is missing. You also see the food cost of every dish. It is included in the ₹3 per order price, not sold as an add-on.
How stock moves in Venditas
| What happens | Stock |
|---|---|
| A bill is paid | Goes down by the recipe of each dish |
| A paid bill is cancelled | Goes back up by the same amount |
| You record a purchase | Goes up; cost per unit updates |
| The kitchen logs wastage | Goes down, with a reason |
| You enter a stock count | Set to what you counted; the gap is shown |
Stock items have units like kg, litre or piece, a category, and a reorder level so you can see what is running low.
Food cost for every dish
Because each recipe knows its ingredients and each ingredient knows its latest cost, Venditas works out the ingredient cost of every dish and its food cost percentage (ingredient cost ÷ selling price). It also shows your average food cost across the menu.
A dish at 45 percent food cost is either priced too low or using too much. Use the menu price calculator to find a price that hits your target, or read how to calculate food cost percentage.
Finding where stock goes
The difference between what the recipes say you used and what is left on the shelf is the number that matters. It is waste, over-portioning, or theft. A weekly count of your top ten ingredients usually shows which one.
Every stock count, correction and wastage entry is in the watch list with the staff member’s name.
Purchases and suppliers
Record each delivery with the supplier, items, quantities and the amount. Mark whether it was paid from the cash drawer or elsewhere. Cash paid to suppliers is taken out of the expected cash at day close, so the drawer count still matches.
Reports show what was used (consumption), what was wasted, and the value of each, for any date range.
Where to start
- Add your 20 to 30 main stock items: paneer, chicken, oil, butter, rice, flour, cream.
- Add recipes for your 15 best-selling dishes.
- Enter today’s stock as your first count.
- Record every purchase from then on.
That is enough to see food cost and spot gaps within a week. Add more dishes when you have time.
Part of the whole system
Inventory is one part of Venditas. The same ₹3 per paid order covers billing, KOTs and the kitchen screen, QR ordering, staff logins and reports. There is no separate inventory plan. See pricing.
Venditas does not export to Tally yet.
Quick answers
How does restaurant inventory software reduce stock automatically?
You add a recipe for each dish, for example 120 g paneer and 40 g butter for one paneer butter masala. When a bill is paid, Venditas takes those quantities out of stock. If the bill is cancelled later, the stock goes back.
Do I have to add recipes for every dish?
No. Start with the dishes that use your costliest ingredients, like paneer, chicken, mutton and oil. Dishes without a recipe still bill normally.
Can I record purchases from suppliers?
Yes. Record each delivery with the supplier, quantities and amount paid, from cash or another account. Stock goes up and the cost per unit stays current.
How do I find out where stock is going missing?
Do a stock count and enter what you actually have. Venditas shows the difference from what the recipes say you should have, and every count and correction is in the watch list.
What is a good food cost percentage for a restaurant?
There is no single right number: it depends on your menu, prices and how you buy. Read our food cost guide or try the food cost calculator.
Is inventory an extra module?
No. Stock, recipes, purchases and food cost are included in the ₹3 per paid order price, with the first 30 days free.
