QR code ordering that your staff stay in charge of.
Put a code on every table. Guests scan it, see your menu with prices, and send their order. A captain or the counter accepts it with one tap, and it goes to the kitchen and onto that table’s bill.
- No app for guests
- Print every table’s code on A4
- Staff accept before the kitchen
QR code ordering lets guests order from their own phone by scanning a code on the table. With Venditas, each table gets its own code, the menu and prices come from your POS, and every order waits for staff to accept it before going to the kitchen. If the table already has a running order, the new dishes join that bill. It is included in ₹3 per order.
What the guest sees
- They scan the QR on the table with the phone camera.
- Your restaurant name, their table number and your menu open in the browser, grouped by category, veg and non-veg marked.
- Sold-out dishes are greyed out. Dishes with portions or add-ons ask “Half or Full?” and which extras.
- They review the order, add a note for the kitchen, and tap Send order.
- The page shows “Waiting for the staff to confirm”, then “Confirmed. The kitchen has it.” on its own.
The guest page is in English today.
What your staff see
- The table on the floor shows a blue QR order waiting label, and captains and the counter get a sound and a message.
- One tap on Accept sends the KOT to the kitchen screen and printer. Wrong table or a prank? Tap Reject with a reason.
- If the table already has a running order, the guest’s dishes join that bill as a new KOT.
- Captains can accept or reject QR orders themselves, so the counter is not a bottleneck.
Why staff approve every QR order
Fully automatic QR ordering sounds fast until a child orders twelve desserts or someone scans a photo of your table code from home. In Venditas nothing reaches the kitchen until a person on your floor says yes.
- Prices always come from your menu. Guests cannot change them.
- Only dishes on your menu can be ordered, and not more than 20 of one dish.
- A table can have at most 3 orders waiting.
- One phone can send at most 8 orders in 10 minutes.
- Every rejected order shows in the watch list.
Setting it up
- Add your tables in Setup → Tables. Each gets its own code automatically.
- Tap Print QR codes for an A4 sheet, two cards per row, with your name and the table number.
- Put the cards in table stands. Done.
If a printed code goes missing, make a new code for that table. The old one stops working at once. You can pause QR ordering any time with one switch.
Is QR ordering right for my restaurant?
It works best where guests know what they want and the floor is busy: cafes, college crowds, family restaurants on weekends, rooftops where captains have to walk far. Many restaurants use both: guests order the first round by QR, and captains handle the rest with the captain app.
What it does not do yet
Guests cannot pay online from the QR page yet; they pay at the table or the counter. The guest page is English only for now. Venditas needs internet on the guest’s phone and your devices.
Everything else is in the price: billing, KOTs, stock and reports for ₹3 per paid order after 30 days free. See pricing.
Quick answers
How does QR code ordering work in a restaurant?
Each table has its own QR code. A guest scans it with their phone camera, sees your menu, picks dishes and sends the order. In Venditas the order then waits on that table for a captain or the counter to accept it, and only then goes to the kitchen.
Do guests need to download an app or log in?
No. The QR opens a light web page. Name and mobile number are optional.
Can guests pay online from the QR page?
Not yet. Guests pay at the table or the counter as usual, by cash, UPI, card or any method you take.
What stops someone from sending fake orders?
Nothing reaches the kitchen until staff accept it. Prices come from your menu, not the guest. Each table can have at most 3 orders waiting, and one phone can send at most 8 orders in 10 minutes.
Can I turn QR ordering off during a rush?
Yes. Switch off “Guests can order by QR” in Setup → Tables. Guests still see the menu, with a note to ask the staff.
Is QR ordering an extra charge?
No. It is included with every other feature in the ₹3 per paid order price. A QR order that gets paid counts like any other order.
Every feature. ₹3 per order.
Billing, KOTs, kitchen screen, QR ordering, stock and reports, on the phones you already have. First 30 days free, no card.
